While Tenji’s primary focus is working with public aquarium design, installation and operation, we also work with individuals who desire world-class private aquariums built to public-aquarium quality.

Dennis Aquarium
This freshwater, planted aquarium was inspired by the work of Japanese Nature Aquarium master, Takashi Amano. Surrounded by a slate bar, the aquarium allows for leisurely contemplation of the visually stunning plants and animals.

We worked directly with the owners and local craftsmen to deliver a world-class planted aquarium. Though the project is complete, we continue to provide training and support for the clients. You can rely on Tenji to be there when you need us.

Private Aquarium, Central California
Approximately 20 feet long, with a curved, one-piece acrylic window, this tank is a spectacular, one-of-a-kind home aquarium decorated with artificial rock and populated with colorful tropical marine life.

Tenji’s role was to coordinate communication between the owners, the project manager and the contractors. We managed the creative and technical aspects of this substantial endeavor, including concept development, design, installation and the identification of a reliable firm to handle the ongoing maintenance of the display.

Moon Jelly Aquarium (Caracas, Venezuela)
Hired to create a custom exhibit for moon jellies, Tenji created and delivered a turnkey package complete with hardware, instructions and detailed schematics to Caracas. While complex in design, our “exhibit in a box” was easy to set up and maintain.

Joel Knight Tax and Business Service (Monterey, California) Tenji was hired to retrofit an existing aquarium installation and turn it into a public aquarium quality, marine fish display.  We used state of the art, artificial rockwork and creative infinite blue backlighting to make this office tank a true eye-catching center piece.

Esquire 360 Home (Beverley Hills, California) Tenji worked hand-in-hand with the client and contractors to oversee the design and installation of this truly spectacular fresh-water aquarium.  The tank measures 12’ long, 4’ tall and 4’ deep, making it one of the largest home planted aquariums in the country.  The magnificent house was chosen by Esquire Magazine to be their 360 home of the year.

Private aquarium (Woodside, California) Tenji was hired to create a one-of-a-kind planted aquarium.  This high-tech aquarium uses CO2, automated nutrient dosing and remote monitoring to aid in producing a stunning display.  We were called in to retrofit an existing system that had never met the client’s expectations.  Using our understanding of planted systems as well as contacts in the industry, Tenji created a beautiful and unique home aquarium.

Private Pond (Kona, Hawaii) Tenji is currently working on the filtration and rockwork design of a 50,000 gallon private pond.   This pond will mimic the natural alkaline pools found naturally along the Kona coastline.   Tenji’s connections in the industry and ability to communicate with appropriate vendors both stateside and in Hawaii, will prove invaluable in creating a magnificent water feature.
